Pump sealing is a device used to prevent internal liquid leakage or external impurities from entering the pump. It is an important component of the pump and directly affects its performance and lifespan.
The function of pump sealing
The main functions of pump sealing are as follows:

Classification of pump seals
According to different structures and working principles, pump seals can be divided into the following types:
Mechanical seal: It is a device that uses components such as springs, screws, and rubber to generate axial pressure, causing two end faces with relative motion to closely fit, thereby forming a sealing effect. Mechanical seals have advantages such as good sealing performance, long service life, and strong adaptability, but they also have disadvantages such as complex installation, high cost, and susceptibility to temperature and pressure.

Packing seal: It is a device that uses soft packing materials (such as asbestos, graphite, polytetrafluoroethylene, etc.) to fill the space between the shaft and the shaft sleeve, forming an annular space, thereby playing a sealing role. Filler seals have advantages such as simple structure, convenient installation, and low cost, but they also have disadvantages such as high friction, high energy consumption, easy generation of heat, and wear.

Gas seal: It is a device that uses gas (such as air, nitrogen, etc.) to form a pressure difference between two end faces, thereby creating a gas film to prevent liquid leakage or impurities from entering. Gas seals have advantages such as no friction, wear, and pollution, but they also have disadvantages such as high gas consumption, complex control systems, and limited applicability.

Magnetic sealing: It is a device that uses magnetic force to adsorb two end faces together, forming a completely isolated space and achieving a non-contact and leak free sealing effect. Magnetic seals have advantages such as no friction, wear, noise, and pollution, but they also have disadvantages such as high magnetic field strength, temperature sensitivity, and high cost.
